Port Blair, Sep 08: In a significant initiative to promote road safety and traffic education among children, the “Traffic Gyan” Abhiyan was launched by North & Middle Andaman district Police at the newly inauguratedChildren’s Traffic Park in Diglipur. This innovative program aims to provide students with essential traffic-related lessons through interactive and fun-filled activities.
Under this initiative, students from various schools will visit the park to gain a deeper understanding of road safety in a hands-on manner. The park replicates real-life traffic situations, allowing children to practice and learn through mock driving or cycling exercises. The goal is to create a safe, engaging environment where students can absorb important safety lessons while having fun.
Adding to the charm of the program is the park’s mascot, “Traffic Buddy”, a ChottaBheem-faced traffic policeman. This character makes traffic education more relatable and exciting for children, enhancing their learning experience and leaving a lasting impression about the importance of road safety.
As the first step in this initiative, 30 enthusiastic students from PM SHRI GSSS, Subash Gram visited the park. The session was inaugurated by Mr. Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, under the guidance of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP(D) N&MA who actively engaged the students with a lively signal game, introducing them to traffic signals in an interactive and enjoyable way.
The “Traffic Gyan” Abhiyan is a long-term effort aimed at shaping responsible future citizens who prioritize safety on the roads. By educating children early on, the initiative hopes to insist crucial values that will contribute to a safer community for all.
