Port Blair, Aug 20: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has become the first District in India with ISO: 9001:2015 Certification for DC Office, SDM Office, 2 AC Offices & 3 Tehsildar Offices on a single date.
The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, handed over the ISO Certificate to the Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, in the conference hall of the Secretariat today.
The ISO Certification has been awarded to the District Office, South Andaman for the activities such as Land Revenue, Maintenance of Law and Order, Maintenance of Land Records, Disaster Management and Public Safety, Providing various Certificates, Supervision and Management of Sub Divisions and Tehsils, Public Grievance Redressal and Election Management.
The ISO 9001:2015 standard focuses on quality management systems and continuous improvement, which are crucial in maintaining public trust and ensuring efficient and effective policing services.
