Middle Andaman, August 11: The 3.10-meter-long crocodile, which was captured yesterday at Bakultala Nallah, Middle Andaman has now been successfully shifted to the Chidiyatapu Biological Park, South Andaman.
As per more update, the rescue, led by Mr. Sunil Kumar, an Under Job Trainee with the Indian Forest Service (IFS), was initiated after multiple reports from local villagers who had sighted the large reptile in the area, raising significant concerns for public safety.
The Forest Department responded promptly by setting up a trap in the nallah, where the crocodile was found ensnared yesterday morning. The operation ensured the safety of both the local community and the animal, which was captured without incident.
Following the successful capture, the crocodile was safely transported to the Chidiyatapu Biological Park. The decision to relocate the crocodile to this secure facility was made to ensure it is kept in a suitable environment while also mitigating any potential risks to residents of Bakultala.
