Port Blair, May 10: Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Harinagar raised the concern to the Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department, A&N Administration regarding insufficient Staff and Machinery at the Nimbudera Electricity Department Site office.
In a letter addressed to Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department, A&N Administration, Mr. Manojit Halder mentioned that the Site Office of Electricity Department, Nimbudera been functioning
without vehicles for a long time. On many occasions, it was observed that the concerned official toeing bamboo ladders and other equipment through their own motorbike for conducting any emergency repair and maintenance work in the area.
He said that the site office covers a vast area i.e., Gram Panchayat Swadeshnagar, Harinagar and Basantipur, without a vehicle the concerned authority is facing lots of problems to conduct the emergency repair and maintenance work on time. A Vehicle should be provided to Nimbudera Site Office, under Gram Panchayat Harinagar.
Mr. Halder mentioned that due to the non-availability of sufficient permanent staff at the Nimbudera Site Office, Electricity Department i.e., Meter Readers, Lineman, Labours, etc, and materials the concerned Authority is facing lots of problems for conducting emergency repair and maintenance work.
Mr. Halder requested Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department, A&N Administration to take needful action against the issue and necessary staff and required materials should be provided urgently to the Nimbudera Site Office.
