Port Blair, Mar 16: State Control Room, Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration issued a Thunderstorm warning over the Nicobar Islands received from IMD Kolkata.
It is informed that on 18th March 2022 thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands.
19th March 2022, heavy to very heavy rain (7-20 cm) is likely to occur with thunderstorms with lightning and gusty wind (30-40kmph) at one or two places over A&N Islands.
20th March 2022, heavy to very heavy rain (7-20 cm) with extreme heavy rain (>20 cm) is likely to occur with thunderstorms with lightning and gusty wind (45-55kmph) at one or two places over A&N Islands.
Due to the formation of Low Pressure area over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal and it likely movement and intensification, Fishermen are advised not to venture into seafrom 19th March 2022 till further information. Those are in the deep sea are advised to return to the coast by the evening of 18th March 2022. No Port Warning was issued.
