Port Blair, Mar 13: Andaman student Miss. Sweta Yadam, D/o Appala Swamy, 6th-year medical student of Sumy State University reached back Port Blair safely on Saturday.
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the Indian Embassy, Government of India and Andaman and Nicobar Administration and all the media people for her safe return from Ukraine.
While recalling her struggle in Ukraine Miss. Sweta said that after 14 days of attack she started her journey back to India since the place, where she was residing in Ukraine, was a risk zone area.
“From Sumy we were taken to Poltava in a bus, around 30 buses were there to evacuate all stranded students from Sumy and were taken to Poltava railway station; from there we went to Lviv after 16 hours of journey by train,” Miss. Sweta told Andaman Sheekha Daily.
“From Lviv we were asked to reach Poland borders.The trains were arranged by the Indian Embassy which was of great help, and we soon reached Poland. In Poland, we were provided food and shelter,” she mentioned.
Miss Sweta further said that on Friday in the early morning hours she landed at Delhi Airport and on Saturday she landed at Port Blair Airport.
Mrs. Lalita, the mother of Sweta also expressed their gratitude to the Indian embassy, Government of India and Andaman and Nicobar Administration for safely evacuating her daughter from Ukraine. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister of India.
