Port Blair, Mar 02: Field Outreach Bureau, Port Blair a publicity wing under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Ministry on 02nd March 2022 organized an awareness campaign on Mother and Child Health and Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) in association with ICDS Urban, Port Blair, A&N Islands.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rekha, Specialist AYUSH Hospital, A&N Islands briefly discussed the beneficiary effects of various medicinal plants and how it helps in developing immunity. She urged all the participants in the programme to make sure that not only they but their children and acquaintances also follow some basic rules of Ayurveda to keep them fit and fine. She also talked about Covid Appropriate Behaviour and how to combat such infection with ayurvedic medicines.
Ms. Parvati, Community Health Officer, Directorate of Health Services categorically clarified that vaccination is of utmost importance for a child. She said that a child needs vaccination from birth to be safe and healthy. In this context, she talked about various initiatives undertaken by the administration for timely vaccination.
Mr. S.K. Biswas, Assistant Director (Technical) Middle Point, Directorate of Industries, Port Blair briefed the audience on various schemes available for the aspirants of start-up companies and entrepreneurs. He said that they are trying to facilitate the setting up of new units to generate employment.
The Programme was attended by Mrs. Chameli Biswas, CDPO, ICDS, Urban and ICDS supervisors.
Welcoming the guests and the audience SandiponDasgupta, Field Publicity Officer said that they are making all efforts to aware people on various issues related to their well-being.
Officials from Information & Broadcasting Ministry Mr. J.P. Ganguly and Mr. Samya Mukherjee were also present in the occasion. The programme ended with a quiz contest conducted by Samya Mukherjee.
