Port Blair, Feb 22: In view of the forthcoming Panchayat and Municipal Election 2022, a meeting with the candidates of different Political parties, who are contesting for Municipal Council, was held on 21st February 2022 at the Conference Hall of the Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
During the meeting, Mr. Ankit Chauhan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman sensitized the candidates of different Political parties about the guidelines issued by the Election Commission and advised them to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct.
Mr. Saurabh Chandra, DANIPS, SDPO (SA/Bambooflat) briefed them about the do’s and don’ts of the Model Code of Conduct. They were urged to maintain Communal Peace, Harmony and to refrain from any illegal activity to induce the voters.
The general public is hereby requested to pass credible information regarding a violation of Model Code of Conduct noticed in their locality to Police at 100, 112 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
