Port Blair, Feb 21: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to direct the concerned department to immediate repair and re-construct the entire stretch of road from Tushnabad to Tirur, to ensure safety and convenience of the public.
In a letter addressed to Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, the Member of Parliament mentioned that he has been approached by a large number of villagers of the region who have raised serious concern over the pathetic road condition between Tushnabad and Tirur village.
He added that during his recent visit to Tirur Village of South Andaman, he has personally experienced the pain and struggle of the general public, who have to travel daily through such pathetic roads, which is not only causing severe damages to vehicles but also posing serious risk to the safety of the general public.
The Member of Parliament added that all classes in local schools have started from 21st February 2022 and hence lots of students will also have to use the same roads to reach the nearby schools.
Not only this, a large number of patients also have to use the same road to reach PHC Tushnabad and hence they undergo huge suffering, he added.
