Port Blair, Dec 12: A public meeting was organized by BJP today at around 12:15 PM at Nimbudera Bazaar, near vegetable market, in which Mr. Shantanu Thakur, State Minister of Shipping and Waterways, GOI was the Chief Guest.
It is learnt that the State Minister of Shipping and Waterways in his address assured the gathering that he will try to do his best for the Matuas and Namasudras (schedule cast) populations of these Islands. He added that the Prime Minister of India is giving due attention to these Islands for the all-around developments and for achieving these goals regularly, Ministers are paying their visits to these Islands.
He further pointed out that the Prime Minister is planning to make a major port at Campbell Bay.
At the end of his speech, he expressed his happiness that after all, he could reach among his Matua disciples in Andaman; today his dream has come true. He later assured the gathering that very soon he will again visit these Islands and he will stay with Matua followers.
