Port Blair, Aug 17: Mr. Kanna, 44 years, a resident of Phoenix Bay has been arrested by police last night for attacking a police Jawan with a sharp weapon, when he was intercepted and questioned by police recently. Further details are awaited.

Port Blair, August 16: Two Police Constables, on patrolling duty in Aberdeen Area, were allegedly attacked by one person following a scuffle. The incident took place yesterday at around 8.00 PM, when both police jawans spotted Mr.Kanna, who already has few cases registered against him. The police jawans spotted Mr. Kanna standing under suspicious circumstances near Fisheries Jetty.
When police team stopped him and interrogated him, Mr. Kanna reportedly threatened both police jawans and suddenly brought out a sharp weapon and tried to attack police Jawans. One Jawan reportedly sustained injuries in this incident while, Mr. Kanna managed to run away from the spot.
Later the matter was intimated to the Police Station after which the injured police jawan was taken to G B Pant Hospital for treatment. Further a case was registered under relevant sections against the accused, who was absconding till last reports obtained. Further updates are awaited.

Port Blair, Aug 10: The Andaman and Nicobar Police yesterday arrested wife of RP Raj, a double murder convict, while she was attempting to hand over illicit Ganja to RP Raj.
As per a tweet by DGP, Andaman and Nicobar Police, the incident took place when the lady came to meet the convict at G B Pant Hospital. She was arrested while giving 14.6 grams of Ganja to the convict.
It is learnt that the lady was given bail after arrest as the quantity of Ganja was less.
Insiders told Andaman Sheekha Daily that the convict often visits G B Pant Hospital for various reasons and in many case while his visit to Hospital his wife comes to meet. Now the questions is, how wife of the lady comes to know about the timing of RP Raj’s visit to hospital? How she got Ganja easily in Andaman, when Andaman and Nicobar Police claim to break the entire network of Ganja smugglers in Andaman? Does this incident suggest use of Ganja inside District Jail? Most important question is, for whom this Ganja was supplied?
As per details, RP Raj was sentenced to death for kidnapping, rape and murder of a minor girl by Learned Sessions Judge, Andaman & Nicobar Islands in Sessions Case No. 26 of 2008. The appellant was also sentenced to imprisonment for life for kidnapping and murder of another minor girl by Learned Sessions Judge, Andaman & Nicobar Islands in Sessions Case No. 27 of 2008. It is learnt that later the sentenced to death was converted to imprisonment for life.
Port Blair, Aug 04: On 30/07/2021 Ms. Deepika Kishan R/o Bambooflat committed suicide at her residence and a UDFIR was registered at PS Bambooflat.
According to police, investigations done so far have prima-facie revealed that deceased was in a relationship with Sub-Inspector of A&N Police. It has also come to notice of police that this Sub-Inspector was simultaneously having relationship with another woman.
“This made the deceased apprehensive,” a press release issued by SP (District) claimed today.
According to police, Ms. Deepika Kishan reportedly sought help of husband of the woman in sorting her relationship. As per the husband of other woman, on the day of the suicide, the deceased took her own photograph with her dupatta tied around her neck and mentioned that she is committing suicide and the woman will never be happy for ruining her life.
A case FIR No. 45/21 dated 03/08/2021 U/s 306 IPC has been registered at PS Bambooflat against the Sub-Inspector.

Kadamtala, August 02: Following a tip-off, a team of Kadamtala Police Unit headed by Sub-Inspector Abdul Rehman along with a Police Team raided the house of Mr. Rajiv Roy at Broom Valley, Kadamtala on 31st July 2021 morning and seized 30 bottles of IMFL. A case under relevant section has been registered in this regard.

Port Blair, August 02: On 01 August 2021 evening, an information was received in Police Out Post Tirur under Orgrabraj Police Station about storage of illegal hand sawn timber in a land of Pahadinalla area, following which a police team reached the spot and conducted a search.
During the search the police team found 14 pieces of Hand Sawn timber Padauk. On investigation it was found that Timber was illegally kept there by unknown person. Police Team recovered the Timber and later handed over to Forest Department.

Port Blair, 30 July 2021: Andaman and Nicobar Police have arrested one suspected Bangladeshi national from Bambooflat region. The accused Mr. Gazi, 32 years was living in Andaman since 2010 and was working in different private sectors. Sources said that after interrogation police came to know about all details in this case and subsequently he was arrested. Further details are awaited.

Port Blair, July 26: In a shocking development, a man went missing in strong water current near Joda Kilan Bailey bridge area this morning, while fishing.
According to reports the person Mr R Jay Narayan was fishing near the Joda Kilan Bridge, close to Temple of Goddess Kali, with his son, when suddenly his bag fell in water. While collecting the bag he drifted away in strong current and went missing. Son of Mr R Jay Narayan later tried to locate his father but could not find him and soon the matter was reported to police.
On report, team of PS Pahargaon, Fire Brigade team, Police Marine Force Team and MARCOS team reached the spot. The Divers of PMF and MARCOS searched the missing person for entire day but he could not be located. It is learnt that the search will continue even tomorrow.
Port Blair, July 22: On 20-07-2021 the staff of JPP Middle Strait escorted the special convoy (in night hours) upto Jirkatang from Middle Strait while their return at about 1850 hrs they got stuck due to fell down of tree in the ATR due to heavy rain and the road completely blocked near Potatang about 18 KM from JPP Middle Strait under the jurisdiction of Police Station Baratang and it is not possible for regulating the convoy vehicles on 21-07-2021 without removing the trees & bushes on the ATR.
Accordingly the stranded escort Police informed the matter over satellite phone to JPP Middle Strait. Immediately the staff of JPP Middle Strait and PS Baratang under the supervision of SHO PS Baratang immediately rushed to the spot with equipments.
During heavy rain & in the late night by their sincere and hard work finally they succeeded to remove the tree & bushes and cleared the road. Because of their sincere efforts the unaccompanied Police team succeeded to regulate the convoy vehicles on 21-07-2021 without any hindrance.

July 20: On 19 July 2021, a POCSO case was registered in Police Station Aberdeen. As per source on 19th July, a complaint was received in Police Station Aberdeen by a family member of minor girl, against a 65 year old man, who allegedly attempted molestation and misbehaved with the minor girl.
As per report same day Police arrested the accused and a POCSO case was registered against the man.
As per information on 20 July 2021 accused person was produced before Court from where he was sent to Judicial Custody. Further details are awaited.
