Port Blair, Feb 15: A 58-years-old man resident of Shadipur, Port Blair has been arrested by PS Aberdeen under the POCSO Act for sexually assaulting a minor boy on Monday.
The accused was arrested based on a complaint filed by the parents of the child on Monday and was sent to Judicial Custody.
As per reports the man tried to assault a 13-years-old boy because of which the child told the matter to his parents, on which parents filed a complaint in PS Aberdeen on 13th February 2022.
One arrested for impregnating minor Tribal Girl
Port Blair, Feb 06: A minor tribal girl recently went to a hospital at Car Nicobar following health issues, where after checkup doctors found that the girl is six months pregnant .
Immediately the issue was reported to police and after investigation it was found that a boy studying in a Port Blair school had impregnated the girl. The girl is also a student of the same school in Port Blair and went to Car Nicobar after schools were closed.
Soon a POCSO case was registered at PS Pahargaon and the accused, who is 18 years old, was arrested.
South Andaman District Police busts Gambling Den, 5 Arrested
Port Blair, Feb 06: The team of Police Station Humfrygunj has busted a gambling den and arrested 05 persons along with recovery of Rs. 35,230/- from the spot.
Upon receipt of credible information regarding gambling at Sippighat, UP Tikrey, a Police team comprising SIAnik Das, SHO PS Humfrygunj along with HC Bijoy Sarkar, HC Abdul Basir, PC Akbar Ali, PC Sabraj Mohammed, PC Aurangzeb Ahmed, PC Rohan Lal and PC Arun Kumar raided in a gambling den on 4th February 2022 at Sippighat, UP Tikrey and arrested 05 persons involved in gambling of Rs. 35,230/- and a deck of playing cards was also recovered from the possession of offenders.
The Offenders was identified as N Ramakrishna (36 yrs.) S/o Late Naveenethan Krishna, private driver R/o Garacharma, K KalaiSelvam (28 yrs.) S/o Late Karuppaiah, private driver, R/o Bhatubasti, WajeedHussain (30 yrs.) S/o Anwar Hussain, private worker, R/o Garacharma, ChithiraveluGaneshan(35 yrs.) S/o Late Ganeshan, private painter, R/o Brichgunj and Rajesh (28 yrs.) S/o Shri Man Bahadur, private cook, R/o Nayagaon.

The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Bambooflat Mr. Saurabh Chandra, DANIPS.

A & N Police Cracks Blind Murder Case
Port Blair, Jan 31: On 27/01/2022, a 50 yr old lady named P. Mariamma, working as vegetable vendor and staying alone at Calicut was found murdered inside her house, upon which a case U/s 302 IPC was registered at PS Pahargaon.
02 teams under the supervision of Insp Girish Kumar, SHO PS Pahargaon & Insp D Jagdishwar Rao along with SI PK Pandey, SI Dinesh Meena, SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, SI Manish Narayan, SI Samiran Mridha, ASI Tarak Nath, HC/V.C. Shekar, PC/Sandeep, PC/Amit, PC/Santosh, PC/Manikandan, PC/Sudeep Kumar, PC/Sini Raju were formed under the supervision of Mr. Saurabh Chandra, DANIPS, SDPO(SA) for search and arrest of unknown accused person. During investigation, several witnesses were interrogated, technological surveillance was stepped up and meticulously scrutinized, besides gathering human intelligence. Showing professional acumen and relentless field efforts, the blind murder case was solved after continuous rigorous efforts of 72 hours by Police team of PS Pahargaon. The accused identified as Uttam Sardar, S/o Robin Sardar, 32 yrs, Pvt. Labour, R/o Lal Mitti, Calicut, was arrested. He admitted to his guilt. The accused was an acquaintance of the victim and attacked her in a fit of rage.
The In-charge Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District, Mr. Narra Chaitanya, IPS who closely monitored and supervised the investigation of the case, complimented PS Pahargaon for the efforts.

Ograbraj Police apprehends 17 fishers with 4 dinghies from Jarawa reserve
Port Blair, Dec 26: To keep a check on infiltration into the Jarawa Reserve Area especially during the COVID pandemic situations, regular joint patrolling is being carried out by a combined team of Police, Forest and AAJVS department. The Police team comprising ASI Muthu Kannan, I/c OP Tirur, PC/2871 Vishal and HG(D)/585 Sukhdev went for sea patrol in the morning of 25/12/2021. During the joint patrolling, it was found that 04 dinghies with 17 fishermen were fishing inside the Jarawa Reserve Area. Acting swiftly, the patrolling team apprehended all the 17 fishermen and seized their dinghies. On checking, around 750 kgs of fish, fuel, solar panel, GPS, 06 Nos. empty drums, plastic jerricans, gas stove, buckets, pipes and other fishing articles were recovered from their possession. Upon this, the apprehended persons were arrested on the spot and a FIR vide no. 74/21 dated 26/12/2021 U/s 188/269/270/34 IPC r.w.s 7/8 PAT Reg 1956 has been registered against them. The entire patrolling was conducted under the control of SI T. Dilla Rao, SHO PS Ograbraj and under the supervision of Mr Saurabh Chandra, SDPO Bambooflat.

Rigorous Life Imprisonment for Sexual Offence Upon Minor Girl
Mayabunder, Dec 03: Shri. Jimut Bahan Biswas, Hon’ble Special Judge under POCSO Act, North & Middle Andaman, Mayabunder has convicted one accused person namely Robin Majhi R/o Kadamtala and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life for the offence punishable under section 6 of POCSO Act, 2012 and also to pay fine of Rs.2,00,000/- (rupees two lakhs), out of which 90 percent amount is to be paid to the victim girl as compensation u/s. 357 of Cr.P.C, in default of payment which convict will have to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year more.
A case under POCSO Act was registered in the Police Station, Kadamtala vide FIR No. 17 of 2021, dated 13/04/2021 on the basis of written complaint lodged by the victim girl. The fact of the case is that during September or October, 2021 when the parent of victim girl left their house leaving the victim to the house of accused, the accused dragged her into the room and forcibly raped her in the said locked room and also threatened her with dire consequences. As a result, victim girl became pregnant.
For the rehabilitation of victim girl, an amount of Rs.5,00,000/- (rupees five lakhs) has been awarded as compensation as per provision of 357A of Cr.P.C from Victim Compensation Fund. The entire case was investigated by SI Agnes Bartholama under the guidance of Si Abdul Rahaman, SHO, PS Kadamtala in the close supervision of Mr. Vichitra Veer, IPS, Superintendent of Police (D), Mayabunder for which the Hon’ble Court has appreciated for energetic investigation conducted by the Investigation Officer. The entire prosecution case was conducted by Shri. Keshab Chandra Mondal, learned Special Public Prosecutor (POCSO Act), Mayabunder.
Father arrested for sexually abusing his two daughters

Port Blair, Nov 29: The Phargaon police unit has arrested a man for sexual abusing his two daughters, who are 16-year-old and 21-year-old.
The victims alleged that their father asked them to have physical relations with him. According to complaints the accused used to sexually abuse the girls since last nearly three years but the girls did not complain out of fear.
According to a report after getting irked on 27th November, they finally lodged complaints against their father at PS Phargaon. The police arrested the accused immediately and booked him under relevant IPC sections and POCSO Act. Further details are awaited.
Rigorous imprisonment for life, which shall mean imprisonment for reminder of that person’s natural life, for the offence of murder by the Hon’ble Additional session, Court, N&M Andaman, Mayabunder
Mayabunder, Nov 18: The Hon’ble Additional Session Court, N&M Andaman, Mayabunder has found guilty and convicted two accused persons namely Rita Dhali W/o Shri Ramakrishna Dhali R/o Tugapur & Amrito Haldar S/o Shri Atul Halder R/o Tugapur under Police Station Mayabunder and sent them to Judicial Custody on 17/11/2021 for reflection of mind for hearing of quantum of punishment.
Accordingly on 18/11/2021 Shri. Jimut Bahan Biswas, Hon’ble Additional Session Judge-cum- Special Judge under POCSO Act, N&M Andaman, Mayabunder after hearing upon both sides passed an order Rigorous imprisonment for life, which shall mean imprisonment for reminder of that person’s natural life, for the offence of murder punishable under section, 302/201/34 IPC.
A case under Indian Penal Code was registered in the Police Station, Mayabunder vide FIR No 108/2017 Dtd : 21/08/2017 under Section 302/201/34 IPC on the basis of complaint lodged by Shri. Hiramon Dhali the prosecution case conducted by Shri. Uttam Kirtonia, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, N&M Andaman, Mayabunder and investigated by Insp. Aditya Narayan.
The additional Session-cum Special Court under (POCSO) Act, N&M Andaman, Mayabunder has recently disposed a fair number of criminal cases after trials in a noticeably short period of time, have certainly generated a growing faith & believe among the general people towards the criminal justice system and rule of land.
Man reportedly kills wife over family issues in Parangara Village of North Andaman

Port Blair, Nov 14: A gruesome murder has been reported from Parangara village under Diglipur tehsil. The murder was committed on 10 November 2021.
According to reports a 40 year old man, a resident of Parangara village reportedly killed his wife over some family issue. The woman was 30 years old and a resident of Madupur village. The couple used to live separately.
As per information they have three children in which two children used to live with the man while one child used to live with the women and the woman used to occasionally visit Parangara village to see her other children.
On 10 November during a visit to Parangara, the couple had a fight on the man reportedly beaten the woman and strangulated her with the help of a plastic rope to death.
When local people heard the screaming, they informed this matter to Khalighat Police Station. The Police team reached the spot and recovered the dead body and shifted the same to Hospital.
As per detail the PS Khalighat team immediately arrested the accused and produced him in court next day morning, from where the accused was sent to Judicial Custody.
One arrested for raping and murdering 42 year old lady of New Pahargaon

Port Blair, Nov 10: Yet another gruesome murder has been reported from New Pahargaon area last night. According to reports a 50 year old man, resident of New Pahargaon Port Blair reportedly raped a woman and later killed her brutally. The woman was 42 years old and a resident of New Pahargaon, where this incident took place.
Sources said the accused and victim were known each other. After information Pahargaon Police Station team reached the spot and recovered the dead body and shifted the same to GB Pant Hospital.
As per detail the PS Pahargaon team cracked the case within 24 hours and identified the accused person. The accused was immediately arrested by police and was produced in court this morning from where he was sent to Judicial Custody.
