Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 18: The Pahargaon Police Station under leadership of Inspr. Mohd Elias, SHO PS Pahargaon, has achieved a significant breakthrough in its investigation of an NDPS Act case registered on 28.10.2024. The case pertains to the seizure of 2.075 kg of illicit Ganja and the arrest of five individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.
Initially On 28/10/2024, upon receipt of credible information, a raid was conducted at Jodakilan by team of PS Pahargaon led by Insp Mohd Elias, SHO PS Pahargaon that resulted in arrest of 03 accused persons and seizure of around 1.775 kgs of Illicit Ganja. Based on the raid, a case was registered at PS Pahargaon and an investigation was initiated. During investigation additional 300 gms of illicit Ganja was recovered from the arrested accused persons. A deeper detailed interrogation revealed names of 02 more accused persons, who were responsible in procuring, transporting and importing the Illicit Ganja from the mainland. The same persons were traced and arrested.
During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that one of the accused Vinith Kumar had been working in close collaboration with another individual R. Vijaya Kumar, a resident of Koilambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, who was the main supplier in this chain of supply and distribution of the illicit Ganja. Acting on this information, a police team comprising Sub-Inspector Manish Narayan and ASI B. Semaiah from Pahargaon Police Station was deputed to Tamil Nadu to locate and apprehend the accused.
After thorough efforts, the police team successfully arrested R. Vijaya Kumar on November 14, 2024, in Chennai. He was subsequently produced before the JMFC-II Court in Alandur, Chennai, where a transit remand was obtained. The accused was brought to Port Blair on November 15, 2024, and presented before the Court of Special Judge (NDPS) in Port Blair, which granted police custody for further investigation.
This arrest highlights the commitment of the PS Pahargaon in curbing the menace of drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and security of the region. The accused is currently in police custody, and further investigation into the case is underway.

One Arrested by PS Aberdeen for Theft of Mobile Phone
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 13: The team of Police Station Aberdeen has arrested a thief for stealing a mobile phone from G.B Pant Hospital. On 12.11.2024, an FIR was registered on a written complaint received at Police Station Aberdeen from a driver of GB Pant Hospital regarding stealing of his Mobile phone from the driver’s room at G.B Pant Hospital by an unknown person.
After the registration of FIR, extensive efforts were made by a dedicated team of PS Aberdeen led by Insp. Vishal Ram, SHO PS Aberdeen, comprising of SI Samiran Mridha, Head Constable Jiju, Constables Jayraj, Mohd Rafique, Surender Singh Yadav and K. Jagdish Babu to locate the mobile phone as well as accused by analyzing numerous CCTV cameras, leading to arrest of accused person and recovery of stolen mobile phone.

PS Kadamtala Swiftly Solve Case of Unnatural Death; Accused Son Arrested
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 10: In a swift investigation, PS Kadamtala has solved an unnatural death case of Sunil Gomasta, S/o Late Amulya Gomasta, 50 yrs, R/o Bhakta Road, Kadamtala.
On 07/11/2024, PS Kadamtala received information that Sunil Gomasta had been found dead in his house. A case of unnatural death under Section 194 of BNSS was registered at PS Kadamtala based on a complaint from Mr. Tushar Suvra Gomasta, son of the deceased Sunil Gomasta, R/o Bhakta Road, Kadamtala, who reported that his father’s body was lying dead in his house. The investigation was assigned to ASI Buddhiswar Haldar of PS Kadamtala.
During the investigation, on 08/11/2024, a post-mortem examination was conducted at PHC Kadamtala. The doctor concluded that the cause of death was blood loss resulting from high-energy blunt trauma.
Acting on the doctor’s opinion and the report submitted by the investigating officer, PS Kadamtala registered a murder case under relevant sections of BNS, 2023. The investigation was promptly undertaken by SI P.M. Krishna Kumar, SHO of PS Kadamtala. As the investigation progressed, focus turned to Tushar Gomasta, son of the deceased, aged 31, a private auto driver residing on Bhakta Road. Following extensive interrogation, Tushar confessed that on the evening of 06/11/2024, he found his father lying intoxicated on the road. When he attempted to wake him, his father began abusing him. In response, he struck his father’s right leg below the knee with a heavy wooden baton 3–4 times and threw the baton in nearby roadside bushes. He then took his injured father home, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The accused was subsequently arrested, and the weapon used in the offense was seized. He will be presented before the Hon’ble Court at Mayabunder on 10/11/2024. The investigation is in progress.

Nicobar Police Strike against Illicit Liquor Operations, 920 Ltrs. of Lahan Destroyed
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 07: In a decisive action against illicit liquor manufacturing and distribution, the beat police team from Police Station Car Nicobar, led by Sub-Inspector J. R. Krishna, Head Constable S.S Randhawa, Constables Annie and Prakash, conducted two successful excise raids on 06/11/2024 at Malacca Village.
During the raids, a total of 920 liters of Lahan (fermented wash used in illicit liquor production) was recovered and destroyed on-site under video and photographic documentation. Additionally, 4 liters of illicit liquor was seized, and two individuals Emmanuel, S/o Late Mr. Fred, 46 yrs and Samson, S/o Sh. Solomon, 33 Yrs, both resident of Malacca Village were arrested and two excise cases have been registered at PS Car Nicobar and are being investigated.

PS Crime & Economic Offence Cracks Down on Illegal Gambling: Seven Apprehend with Seizure of 83 Thousand Four Hundred Rupees in Cash
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 18: On October 17th, 2024, the team from the Police Station Crime & Economic Offence, led by Sub-Inspector Parvash, along with HC/Sanjay Kujur, PC/ N. Thangaraj, PC/Y. Srinivas Rao and PC/Rajendan executed a raid at Junglighat behind Shalini Hotel under the supervision of Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO PS C&EO. The operation was conducted in line with their unwavering commitment to combat illegal activities.
During the raid, the team apprehended several individuals engaged in gambling activities. Despite attempts by the gamblers to evade capture, the police team managed to apprehend all seven individuals involved. Upon searching the suspects, the team recovered a total of Rs. 83,400/- in cash, along with board money amounting to Rs. 73,420/- and Rs.9,980/- recovered from their personal search.
The individuals apprehended during the raid have been charged under Sections 5/7 of the Andaman and Nicobar Gambling Regulation 1951. This action underscores the Police Station Crime & Economic Offence dedication to upholding the law and ensuring the safety and security of the community.

Man Arrested in Matrimonial Fraud Case Involving Local Woman on Matrimonial App
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 13: In a distressing case of matrimonial fraud, SC Ali Harman has been arrested following allegations that he deceived a local woman for money. The complaint, lodged at PS Aberdeen, outlines a series of deceitful interactions that began on the Muzz App, a popular matrimony platform for individuals from Muslim communities.
According to the complainant, the accused befriended her on the app and lured her into a relationship with promises of marriage. The situation escalated during a visit to Port Blair, when he reportedly convinced her family to give him money, citing vague reasons for the urgent need for funds and managed to deceitfully receive an amount of around 3 lakhs Rupees. After leaving the Andaman Islands, Harman allegedly blocked both the complainant and her family on all communication platforms.
The investigation, led by Sub-Inspector Abhishek Haldar and assisted by HC Shiv Nath, both of PS Aberdeen, has uncovered substantial evidence against Harman. Bank transaction confirmed that he received money from the complainant. Further, substantial evidence has been recovered against the accused which corroborates his travel to and stay in A&N Islands.
The accused SC Ali Harman was arrested in Maharashtra and was brought to Port Blair. He was presented before the CJM Court, and he is presently under Judicial Custody Remand.

Theft Case at Kalighat Resolved Within Hours by Kalighat Police
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 08: On 07/10/2024, PS Kalighat received a complaint from Mr. Shadev Uraon, a resident of Kalighat, regarding the theft of a significant quantity of areca nuts from his property. Responding swiftly, the Kalighat Police registered an FIR under the relevant sections of the BNS-2023 and promptly launched a thorough investigation.
Acting swiftly, a team led by SI Ashok Kumar Baghel, SHO of PS Kalighat, and comprising ASI Mucheray Munda, PCs Irenious, and Hazrat Kumar, was quickly formed. By leveraging both manual efforts and technical surveillance, the team identified the suspect, Roni Biswas, S/o Mr. Nimai Biswas 24 yrs, R/o Nabagram, within hours. The suspect attempted to flee the district but was apprehended at Kadamtala, with the assistance of the PS Kadamtala police team, before escaping.
Following all legal formalities, the suspect was enquired in connection with the theft. During the enquiry, the accused confessed that he had committed the crime. Further, the stolen property has been recovered and the investigation of the case is in progress. PS Billiground Bust Illicit Liquor Operation in Korang Nallah Jungle, Destroy 2,000 Liters of Lehan
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 06: In a concerted effort to combat the illegal liquor trade, PS Billiground executed a successful jungle raid on 05/10/2024. Under the direction of Sub-Inspector Shiju Kumar SHO PS Billiground, a dedicated team led by Head Constable Amrita Bawali, along with Police Constables Ashok Das, Anurud Das, Biplab Bachar, and Abhijeet Mondal, targeted the Korang Nallah jungle area. This location had been under surveillance due to ongoing suspicions of illicit activities.
During the search, the team uncovered and seized a significant array of equipment used for the illegal distillation of liquor. The items confiscated include two distillation units (bhattis), 09 Nos. iron drums containing 2,000 liters of lehan along with 02 Nos. half drums, and other related bhatti materials. Subsequently, the police team destroyed the seized lehan and other Bhatti materials on-site, ensuring that these materials could no longer be used for illegal activities. This swift action underscores the ongoing commitment of North & Middle Andaman District Police to curb the production and distribution of illicit liquor in the region.

Billiground Police Apprehend Accused in Shocking Attempted Murder Case
Billiground, Sept 20: On 18/09/2024, PS Billiground received information regarding a attempted murder case where Arogiyaswamy R/o Betapur brutally attacked his wife with a knife due to family disputes. The victim suffered multiple lacerated wounds but was rescued due to the timely intervention of passersby. Acting swiftly, SI M.V Shiju Kumar, SHO PS Billiground, alongwith ASI Muthu, ASI Rajni Babu, HCs Bawali & Kamlesh, PCs Mustafa, Narayan, Abhijeet, Bhagirath, Silas, Selvam and Ct Diwakar, immediately reaches to the scene.
Following the commission of the crime, the accused fled to the nearby jungle with the weapon and tried his best to evade arrrest but the police launched a massive manhunt, leveraging technical intelligence and human inputs to track his digital and physical footprints. Despite challenging weather conditions in the form of incessant rain and dense forest terrain, the police continued and kept on tracking his location to get closer to him as time passed.
On 20/09/2024, the relentless efforts of the police paid off, and Arogiyaswamy was apprehended in Panchawati jungle, while trying to flee from billiground and had came closer to road expecting to catch a vehicle. The weapon used in the crime was also recovered from his possession which he has hidden in a clandestine manner.Subsequently, the accused namely Arogiyaswamy S/o Late K. Villayan (39) yrs R/o Betapur was arrested in this case which has been registered under the relevant sections of BNS, 2023.

PS Rangat Cracks Major Drug Bust: 3.09 KG of Drug Seized and Two Persons Arrested
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 16: In an on-going operation against the drug menace, and based on information provided by Sanjeev Kumar Halder during his police custody following his arrest under the NDPS Act by PS Rangat, it was revealed that Sanjeev Halder had been supplied with Methamphetamine by Ashok Maithy, a retired electrician from MES, resident of Buniyadabad, and Raju Golder, a private worker resident of Hutbay.
On 16/09/2024, based on an input, it was discovered that the suspects are traveling to Diglipur by bus to sell the drugs. Acting on this, SDPO Rangat immediately formed a raiding team led by SI Madhab Halder, SHO PS Rangat. The team intercepted the bus in which Ashok Maithy and Raju Golder were traveling near Rangat and conducted a search of their bags. A search of Raju Golder’s bag resulted in the recovery of 3.09 kg of Methamphetamine. During the preliminary inquiry, the main accused, Raju Golder, revealed that he had obtained the drugs from floating parcels at sea. Upon further interrogation, both suspects confessed to their involvement. The investigation confirmed their involvement to the NDPS case registered against Sanjeev Kumar Halder on 02/09/2024 at PS Rangat.
Subsequently, on 16/09/2024, Ashok Maithy, 61 years, S/o Ram Krishna Maithy, R/o Buniyadabad, Retd. MES electrician, and Raju Golder, 36 years, S/o Anadhi Goldar, private worker R/o Hutbay, were arrested for committing offence under the NDPS Act, at PS Rangat. The investigation is in progress.
