Billyground, Jan 09: Strong rumours about masked men roaming to lift children has now reached North and Middle Andaman region too. Although many local newspapers have already reported facts in this regard and have asked public, not to pay heed to such rumours but word of mouth of public is spreading like wildfire in this case and people are getting panic.
Seeing efforts of Andaman Sheekha to defeat such rumours in South Andaman region, several officials in Middle Andaman have contacted this correspondent and requested Andaman Sheekha to urge public of North and Middle Andaman region to stay away from such rumours and not to pay any heed.
According to public, such rumours have left parents in North and Middle Andaman deeply worried and people are not leaving their children outside alone, even for playing.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that even in North and Middle Andaman no FIR in this regard has been lodged against any such suspicious people and hence it is again proved that such unverified news are only rumours.
The Administration with the help of IP Division and A & N Police must also reach out to public and make them understand that such rumours might lead to dangerous consciences as mass hysteria can force public to take any extreme step even against innocent person.
