Diglipur, Jul 23: A STS bus, which was going to Rangat from Diglipur overturned at Sitanagar on 22 July injuring as many as 19 people.
The bus bearing registration no AN01-D0125 left Diglipur bazaar at 10:30 am for Rangat. On the way the bus went for tire replacement at STS Workshop and then proceeded to Rangat.
At Sitanagar, Ranchi Bijin reportedly due to steering lock the bus overturned.
At the time of the accident 55 passengers were travelling in the bus. Due to lack of mobile signals the information to hospital was delayed.
Total 4 ambulances including one from Coast Guard reached the spot and shifted them to CHC hospital.
Out of 26 patients, there were seven male, 10 female and two children, were admitted for further treatment and rest were given first aid.
It is learnt that Asst commissioner Diglipur Shri Awanish Kumar IAS, Dy SP Diglipur visited the CHC Hospital to enquier about patients’ health. The PS Diglipur has registered a case in this matter and further investigations are on.
In last four months this is fourth STS Bus accidents in which nearly 34 people have sustained injuries, which somewhere indicates about poor maintenance of STS buses.
