Port Blair, May 29: Beodnabad Gram Panchayat organized a follow up and escort service meeting on 28.05.2012 at 10.00 a.m at Burmanalla for the trainees trained jointly by UNNATI Industries, Agriculture and other line departments of the Administration and NABARD with the support of ENI India Ltd/ONGC. The meeting was attended by S/S/ M.N. Murali Director of Industries, Ravinder Rao, General Manager, A & N State Coop. Bank, Ragawan, Manager, NABARD and C. Mohammed, President, UNNATI.
Smti. Maimuna, Pradhan, Beodnabad in her address thanked Administration and UNNATI for organizing training on coconut and marine based products for which raw materials are abundantly available in their Panchayat. She further said after completion of training the trainees started production to meet local requirement she said food processing license and infrastructure required to start production on commercial scale. She also demanded for setting up a coconut desiccated plant departmentally for demonstration and use by coconut growers for which all local support would be extended by her panchayat.
Mr. Sony, President, Food Processing Committee of Beodnabad Panchayat area requested to extend assistance under NABARD Rural Marketing Outlet scheme, loan for starting production and assistance for preparation of project report for availing loan.
Mr. Ragawan, Manager, NABARD explained in details about Rural Marketing Outlet scheme of NABARD under which assistance for marketing support can be availed.
Mr. Ravinder Rao, General Manager, A & N State Coop. Bank explained about various loan schemes under which financial assistance can be availed for setting up food processing . He said if trainees trained in coconut and marine products, prepare quality products with attractive packing can easily be sold to large number of tourists visiting in their Panchayat area.
Mr. M.N. Murali Director of Industries highlighted about food processing schemes and various action initiated by the Administration and provisions kept in the plan scheme for promotion of food processing. He said that department and UNNATI jointly trained about 300 candidates and to provide timely assistance to them department also set up a food processing cell in the Directorate of Industries. He also said to prepare project report and to explain details of the scheme for financial as & when required the staff will be deputed. As regard setting up desiccated plant in Panchayat for use of coconut growers will be examined.
Mr. C. Mohammed, President, UNNATI mentioned that trainees can avail loan under Joint Liability Group scheme being implemented by UNNATI with the support of NABARD. He further said that the trainees can also use the infrastructure of UNNATI’s training centre in the Industrial Estate, Dollygunj for commercial production after obtaining food processing line and after making arrangement for separate production of veg & non veg food processing items with the assistance of the Directorate of Industries.
