
Sri Vijayapuram, June 22: (PIB) The Andaman & Nicobar Ship Repair Unit (CANSRU) of Cochin Shipyard Limited observed International Yoga Day 2026 at the Marine Dockyard, Sri Vijayapuram, on June 21 with enthusiasm and active participation from employees and trainees.
The programme was organized in line with this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” Officials, employees and trainees of CANSRU participated in the yoga session conducted by Chief Guest and Yoga Instructor Smt. N. Ratha, Secretary of the A&N Yogasana Sports Association and Coach at Sai Yoga Education and Charitable Trust.
During the session, participants were guided through various yoga practices aimed at promoting physical fitness and mental well-being. The instructor emphasized the importance of regular yoga practice in maintaining good health and ensuring healthy ageing.
Shri Binu K. Kuriakose, Assistant General Manager of CANSRU, inaugurated the programme by distributing yoga accessories to the participants. Shri Mathew Varghese, Senior Manager (HR & IR), addressed the gathering and highlighted the benefits of yoga for physical and mental wellness.
The event was organized as part of CANSRU’s commitment to employee health and community wellness and was conducted in accordance with government guidelines.
