Port Blair, Nov 23: Villagers of the Campbell bay area have been facing huge inconvenience since the fuel dispenser unit of ANIDCO petrol pump has stopped functioning due to some technical faults nearly four days ago. Later the villagers were issued petrol from open drums with the help of a measuring can.
The villagers are disappointed to see such temporary arrangements as many alleged that while filling the tanks of vehicles, fuel gets spill from the cans and it is also extremely dangerous to issue fuel like in this manner.
When Andaman Sheekha Daily contacted the in-charge of ANIDCO petrol pump Mr. S Shanmuganathan he said that already the matter has been informed to the higher officials.
He further requested the people of Great Nicobar to cooperate with the ANIDCO until some proper arrangements are made from Port Blair or IOC.
