
Port Blair, Nov 14: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) organized a function on Sunday at Gandhi Bhawan to commemorate the 132nd birth anniversary of Former Prime Minister of India Pandit. Jawaharlal Nehru. At the outset, the ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder and other senior leaders of Congress party paid rich floral tributes to the portrait of Pandit. Nehru.
In his address, Mr. Halder recalled the contributions of Jawaharlal Nehru, who played a historic role in the attainment of India’s freedom. “If India is a vibrant democracy and the largest developing economy today, it is only because of the initiatives of Nehru ji who introduced green revolution, launched various multifaceted development programmes, the PSUs and premier institutions of learning, it is for these reasons Nehru ji is referred as architect of modern India”, he said.
He appealed the party workers to take a pledge to tirelessly work and uphold Nehru’s commitment for an inclusive democracy, empowerment of the people, and preserving the unity and integrity of India.
Senior party leaders, PCC office bearers, frontal organizations, DCC’s, CCC, BCC’s and party workers attended the function.
