Port Blair, Nov 14: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive committee Member BJP, Former State President Bharatiya Janata Party ANI & Home Ministry Advisory Committee Member, GoI on Saturday demanded that November 15, Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s birthday be declared as Restricted Holiday through a letter addressed to Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
In his letter Mr. Jolly wrote that the Government of India has declared November 15 as “Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas” to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda and also with a view to honour the special place and contribution of tribes in Indian History and culture. Accordingly, several States have already announced gazetted holiday on the occasion of Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s Jayanti on November 15.
Mr. Jolly has requested the administration to declare November 15 as Restricted Holiday (RH) to commemorate the birth anniversary and remember the immense contribution of Bhagwan Birsa Munda to the society and nation.
