Port Blair, Oct 27: On 27 October 2021 edition, Andaman Sheekha English Daily published a news regarding damage of a Transformer at Billiground Bazaar and also reported about fire, which is reported in the new Transformer installed by Electricity Department.
Taking swift action, Mrs. Deepa Kumari, the Executive Engineer of Electricity Department, N & M Andaman reached Harinagar Ward Number 6 area of N & M Andaman to inspect the damaged Transformer. After inspection she found that the Transformer is totally damaged and she realized that the site of the transformer needs to be shifted to another place, considering safety of public and convenience in maintenance.
But the EE was informed that the suitable site for shifting the transformer belongs to an octogenarian and prominent Islander, Mr. Harabilash Bairagi, whose consent is necessary.
As per details, Mrs. Deepa Kumari soon contacted Dr. P K Mandal a social worker of the region for convincing Mr. Harabilash Bairagi for setting up transformer in his land. Dr. P K Mandal reportedly convinced Mr. Harabilash Bairagi and brought him to the site to meet the EE so that the matter can be resolved immediately. The EE appreciated Mr. Harabilash Bairagi for his generosity of giving land for setting up transformer and lauded efforts of Dr. P K Mandal for convincing Mr. Bairagi.
The EE later assured general public that within two days the transformer will be installed which will solve the power cut issues of Billiground and nearby regions. Public expressed gratitude towards Mrs. Deepa Kumari, the Executive Engineer of Electricity Department, N & M Andaman for visiting the site personally and solving the issue immediately.
