
Port Blair, Oct 27: South Andaman District Administration has been continuously conducting vaccination camps at different locations to reach each and every eligible person in order to ensure 100% COVID vaccination to the eligible target populace of South Andaman.
Today, a vaccination camp was conducted at Water Sports Complex in coordination with NGOs namely Guru Ki Rasoi and Speed Boat Association for tourist boat staff and life guards of IP&T department. All boat staff and life guards of Water Sports Complex have been administered COVID vaccine in the camp.
Shri. Hari Kallikkat, Sub Divisional Magistrate with other officers of district administration visited vaccination camp and urged all people to get both doses as per their vaccination schedule along with their families to contain the corona virus. He said 100% vaccination and obeisance of COVID protocol is the effective tool to fight against COVID pandemic.
The District TB unit in coordination with all health centres is also conducting the Active Tuberculosis Case finding (ATCF) campaign throughout the District since 2nd Sept. 2021 and it will continue till 1st Nov. 2021 at various Health & Wellness Centers, vaccination centers, different institutions, construction sites and at community levels.
The DC (SA) urged the general public of South Andaman to cooperate with the field staff during the TB survey and also directed all commercial establishments to ensure periodic TB screening of their staff. If anyone is having symptom like cough for longer than 3 weeks, hemoptysis (coughing up blood) and chest pain, they may get tested at nearest health centres and also requested to contact District TB unit, GB Pant hospital or District Health Society, DC Office (SA) for any assistance for TB screening or testing to achieve the goal of TB eradication by 2025.
