Port Blair, Oct 27: Mr. R Alager Swamy, ex- Up-Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad North and Middle Andaman urged for scheduling of STS buses from Baratang Depot. In his letter addressed to the Director, Directorate of Transport, he expressed gratitude on behalf of Baratang people for resuming the bus services as demanded earlier.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr. Alegar Swami urged to schedule the departure timing of D1 from Port Blair at 12:00 PM for availing 02:00 PM convoy from Jirkatang. Mr. R Alger Swami also demanded resuming the STS bus services to Diglipur/ Mayabunder from Baratang.
“The route was one of the highest revenue-generating segments and the public including senior citizens are paying a huge amount to public carriers for attending court-related matters and other personal requirements,” he added.
