On the auspicious occasion of ‘Gandhi Jayanti’, I extend my heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to all Islanders of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Globally, Mahatma Gandhi, who we call as Bapu, is considered as a symbol of peace, non-violence and freedom for teaching the philosophy of ‘Ahimsa’ for the well-being of the people in the society.
His teachings are still remembered and used for resolving current conflicts, avoiding violence and finding peaceful solutions to make the world a better place to live in.
On this occasion, I urge people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to cherish the principles of Ahimsa and truth – the cardinal principles of the Mahatma.
