Shaheed Dweep, Sept 30: One day after Andaman Sheekha Daily reported about the locked toilet blocks of Shaheed Dweep Passengers Hall at the jetty area and how tourists are facing inconvenience, the Director of IP&T has sent a letter to the Chief Port Administrator, Port Management Board Port Blair and requested him to direct PMB’s concerned officials to make the said toilet blocks operational at the earliest.
In his letter he mentioned that in order to facilitate tourists at Jetty area, ALHW had constructed a toilet block attached to passenger hall at Jetty area and handed over to PMB for upkeep and maintenance of the same.
“It has been reported by our representative that since long time. The said toilet block is under lock & key and causing lots of inconveniences to incoming tourists visiting to Shaheed Dweep on arrival at jetty area,” the Director IP&T added.
