Port Blair, Sept 30: Central Island Agricultural Research Institute Employees Welfare Association (CIARIEWA) of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair today organized a farewell function to bid farewell to Mr. K. Gopi and Mr. Ujwal Toppo, Skilled Supporting Staff of this Institute. They have served for more than 30 years in the Institute and retired on 30th September, 2021 on attaining the age of superannuation.
Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, Director and Patron, CIARIEWA while delivering his presidential speech, expressed his happiness over the conduct of the farewell programme by the team and placed on record the contributions made by both the staff in the field of Horticulture and Field Crops. Later, he felicitated them with a memento and financial benefits to their credits by the CIARIEWA.
Dr. Debasis Bhattacharya, Dr. S.K. Zamir Ahmed, Dr. Jai Sunder, Dr. P.K. Singh, Dr. T.P. Swarnam, Dr. K. Abirami and Mr. P. Simhachalam also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Mr. K. Gopi and Mr. Ujwal Toppo shared their experiences. At the outset, Dr. K. Saravanan, Joint Secretary, CIARIEWA welcomed the gathering and the programme ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Thanmai Paul and Mr. Shyam Sundar Rao coordinated the conduct of the farewell function.
