Port Blair, Sept 22: The District Health Society, South Andaman in coordination with all health centres is conducting the Active Tuberculosis Case finding (ATCF) campaign throughout the District since 2ndSept. 2021 and it will continue till 1stNov. 2021 at various Health & Wellness Centers and vaccination centers.
As per the direction of Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner/ Chairman, District Health Society, South Andaman, the assigned team conducted Tuberculosis(TB) active case finding survey in Children Home, Ashraya Home and Old Age Home at Abbhyuday Complex, Ferrargunj on 22ndSept. 2021, wherein all children and elderly have been screened to ensure safety and to make sure all the TB suspect cases are identified, tested, followed up and if anyone found positive then, treatment has to be initiated to achieve the goal of TB eradication by 2025.
The DC (SA) once again urged the general public of South Andaman to cooperate with the field staff during the TB survey and if there are any suspected cases, they may get tested at nearest health centres and support Administration in eradicatingTuberculosis from the District.
