
Port Blair, Sept 19: ANTCC leaders led by its President Mr. Rangalal Halder and Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. G. Bhasker on Saturday met Former Congress President Mr. Rahul Gandhi at New Delhi to discuss about organizational issues and strengthening the party.
Mr. Halder expressed his pleasure at the manner in which recent leadership changes had been brought in the ANTCC.
The ANTCC leaders apprised Mr. Gandhi about the current state of affairs on the political front and the activities of party in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. They sought guidelines from the high command to strengthen the party and organizational structure at various levels in A&N Islands.
The meeting lasted nearly one hour and Mr. Gandhi listened to the opinions of all leaders and guided them on poll strategy and preparedness ahead of municipal and panchayat elections in A&N Islands.
Mr. Gandhi asked the ANTCC leadership to continue working towards highlighting the wrongdoings of the government, especially the anti-people decisions of the Modi government.
Meanwhile, Mr. Halder invited Mr. Gandhi to the Islands and he accepted the invitation.
The meeting was also attended by TCC Member Mr. V.K Abdul Aziz, Rangat BCC President Mr. Kandaswamy, NSUI State President Mr. M.A Sajid along with Congress leaders Mr. Ibrahim (Bawa) and Mr. Joga Rao.
