Port Blair, Sep 07: The Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh today informed that four flights with 720 passengers arrived at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that among passengers who arrived yesterday (Monday), no passenger was found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test.
The Secretary IP&T further informed that 262 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which one person was found COVID-19 positive during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and passengers departing for Shaheed Dweep Island were also tested today, in which altogether 51 people were tested, all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and at Mohanpura Bus stand 167 RAT were conducted in which all were found COVID-19 negative and at Helipad total 07 persons were tested in which all found COVID-19 negative.
“At Phoenix Bay jetty, 101 passengers travelling to Swaraj Dweep were tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)” and from Rangat a passenger ship arrived in which 91 persons were tested and all were found COVID-19 negative, he said.
“Today a total of 351 doses of vaccine were provided to eligible beneficiaries in which a total of 255 were of the 18-44 year age group at JNRM Vaccination Center,” he added.
Later Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that at GB Pant Hospital only one COVID-19 patient is admitted who is not on oxygen support now. Whereas today no asymptomatic patient got admitted at Covid Care Center, he added.
