Port Blair, Aug 24: The Deputy Director of IP&T, Mr. Radhey Shyam Meena, today said that altogether four flights with 639 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that of out of 668 passengers, who arrived yesterday (Monday), one passenger was found COVID-19 positive in the RT-PCR test.
he Deputy Director Mr. Meena further informed that 351 people (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which all persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and passengers of MV Chouldari were also tested today which was returning from Port Blair to Shaheed Dweep, altogether 80 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
The Deputy Director Mr. Meena further pointed out that at Mohanpura bus stand, 169 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during RAT, and helipad altogether 06 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during.
“At Phoenix Bay jetty, 73 passengers travelling to Swaraj Dweep were tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)”, he said.
“MV Strait islands, 14 crew members have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited”, he pointed out.
“Today altogether 900 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM at JNRM Vaccination Center in which 883 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, ” he added.
