Port Blair, Aug 22: A run between two Historical and Holy places of Port Blair i.e. cellular Jail and Flag point was organized by NCC, under agies of Col A Vivekananda commanding Officer and staff of 1A & N Indep Inf Coy NCC as a part of “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav” with COVID protocol. The cellular jail is the shrine of freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives for the Independence of India.
The jail also known by the name Kala Pani literally meaning black water (the sea) The Cellular Jail meant to imprison the freedom fighters of India.
It reminds us the sacrifice and cost that was paid by our freedom fighter for our Freedom. The run culminated at flag point where Netaji hoisted first Tricolour on 30 Dec 1943, nukkad natak was performed by Cadets.
By means of run, cadets spread the awareness to keep everyone fit in all respect i e physically, mentally and socially. Fifty Boys and Girls cadets participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Similar fit run was also organised at Campbell Bay by NCC cadets of Govt School Campbell Bay.
