Port Blair, Aug 20: Miss V. K. Mariyam Bibi, Ex-Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman and Smti Rasheeda Ex-Pradhan, Hope Town today called on the Director of Civil supplies and highlighted several issues being faced by the general public.
According to information received they urged to include widows, fishermen, destitute and other general public under BPL category, having poor financial background.
The delegation demanded to conduct a survey after collecting forms so that the genuine people get the benefits under Government schemes.
They requested for re- introduction of 50% wheat and 50% fortified wheat flour (Atta) to the consumers as done earlier and they also asked for holding camps at all Gram Panchayat for Aadhar updating/Correction etc.
The Director assured to do the needful in this regard, he also informed them that the counters in BSNL office as well as in civil supply office are available so that the people can avail the services and they will soon conduct camps for Aadhar updating/Correction.
