Port Blair, Aug 20: The Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, today said that altogether three flights with 608 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that of the passengers who arrived yesterday (Thursday), a total 03 passengers were found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test.
The Secretary Mr. Singh further informed that 272 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which all persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and passengers of MV Chouldari were also tested today which was returning from Port Blair to Shaheed Dweep, altogether 84 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
The Secretary Mr. Singh further pointed out that at Mohanpura bus stand, 168 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during RAT, and helipad altogether 13 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during.
“Altogether eight active cases are there in Andaman and Nicobar Islands,” secretary IP&T added.
“Today altogether 285 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 232 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine,” he added.
