Port Blair, Aug 09: Mr. Paritosh Kumar Halder Ex-member, A & N Pradesh Council has demanded science stream in Government Senior Secondary School, Diglipur.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor of A & N islands, the Ex-member Mr. Halder said that more than 250 students have successfully completed their Class –Xth, i.e. CBSE board Examination 2021, from Govt. Senior Secondary School, Diglipur. He pointed out that there is no science steam, although a number of students from the region are interested to study in science stream.
He further pointed out that Diglipur Government Senior Secondary School is one of the oldest schools of the entire Diglipur region, situated close to a very thickly populated area, and Diglipur Market is the second biggest market place of A & N Islands.
“There is science steam in Sitanagar Government Senior Secondary School in Diglipur Tehsil but that school is around 7 KM far away from Diglipur Govt. Sr. Sec. School,” he added.
The students and their parents are demanding for opening of science section in this Diglipur Govt. Sr. Sec. School in this academic session 2021-2022, he added.
