Port Blair, Jul 18: Mr. K Venkat Ram Babu, State President Andaman & Nicobar Janta Party urged to the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands to conduct Elections of Gram Panchayat and Municipal Council of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
In his letter the State President ANJP said that the Andaman & Nicobar Administration contained the COVID-19 spread, now the cases of covid-19 are low and almost all activities started.
“We are living in a democratic country with democratic set up. In all over India every state had their General Elections at the right time, but in our state there is delay due to Administrative reasons. Now the situation has become normal and people need democratic setup by conducting general elections of Gram Panchayat and Municipal Council in our Islands”, he added.
He urged to conduct General Elections of Gram Panchayat and Municipal Council of A&N Islands as early as possible for the development of A&N Islands.
