Port Blair, June 30: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament has requested the Chief Secretary to provide ship set to sail to Campbell Bay on 04th July 2021. He has highlighted that patients, students and general public who are presently stranded at Port Blair don’t have proper place for shelter and food. Most of them have exhausted what all money they had with them and the present condition of many of them are precarious. Citing these reasons he has requested for providing ship set to sail to Campbell Bay on 04th July 2021 and on the return journey the vessel can bring back the passengers who are struck at Campbell Bay.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament very much appreciative regarding the appropriate measures taken by the Administration from time to time in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic meticulously. He has hailed that after succeeding in containing the dreaded virus the administration has been announced step by step relief to solace the people of these islands to come out from the state of despair. He has request the Chief Secretary to make payment to persons who were engaged under MNEREGA scheme and whose payment has been kept in abeyance owing to Covid-19 lockdown. He has further expressed that if the payments are made then it will be a boon to these people who are finding it difficult to meet their daily needs.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament has welcomed the decision taken by the Administration on giving further relaxation in lockdown from 6 am to 3 pm which is a great help for the daily earners as well as traders. He has requested the Chief Secretary to resume the ferry service between Dundas Point to Chatham jetty and from Hope town to Phoenix bay jetty frequently during 6 am to 10 am and 1 PM to 3 PM without insisting for E-pass from the commuters who are availing the facility. He has further requested that the connecting buses to various destinations from Dundas Point Jetty, Hope town jetty, Phoenix Bay jetty and Chatham Jetty may also be made available frequently as per the boat schedule to ease the difficulties faced by the people of Dundas Point and Hope town areas to attend their urgent office works, place of private works, personal works and for treatment at Port Blair.
