Port Blair, June 06: Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, State Vice President & Incharge, Seva Hi Sanghtan – II, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the leadership of Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Islands requesting him to address some burning issues pertaining to our Islands.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh also spoke to the Chief Secretary over telephone in this regard and the party claimed in a press release that necessary instructions to the officials have been passed by the Chief Secretary to resolve the issues highlighted by the BJP State Vice President.
In his letter Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh has requested the Chief Secretary to schedule ships for the 2000+ residents of Inter Island who are stuck in Port Blair and are facing a lot of problems.
He also requested the Chief Secretary to provide relief to the daily wage earners of the Islands who are in distress because they are deprived of even the basic needs during this pandemic.
He also mentioned about the farm produce from Little Andaman which is losing its value each day as there is no ship to transport it to Chennai. He also informed the Chief Secretary that TCI is ready to deploy a ship and transport the farm produce to Chennai and is waiting for approval from competent authority.
He also requested the Chief Secretary to allow motorised dinghy to operate between Shaheed Dweep and Port Blair which will enable the farm produce from the Islands to reach the markets of Port Blair, avoiding further loss to the farmers of the Islands and also it will keep a check on the price of vegetables in the local markets of South Andaman.
Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands is confident that, after the intervention of the Chief Secretary the issues of the Islanders will be solved soon.
