Port Blair, May 17: On credible information, a raiding team headed by SI Anik Das, SHO PS Humfrygunj, HC/762 Abdul Bashir, HC/2336 Bijoy Sarkar, PC/2647 Aurangzeb Ahmed and PC/2915 Sabraj Mohd conducted a raid at Guptapara fishing landing centre on 17/05/21 at 0130 Hrs and recovered a plastic bag containing 24 transparent packets of venison (Deer meat) weighting about 26 kgs” from the possession of Mr. Gopal Mazumdar S/o- Late Monindro Mazumdar (35) yrs, fish seller, R/o- Guptapara.
As the accused person was found violating the night curfew, hence as per relevant penal provision an FIR has been registered at PS Humfrygunj against him. Later, the wildlife protected products were handed over to the forest officials of Manglutan forest range for further action.
The above raid was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Saurabh Chandra, SDPO Bambooflat and on the overall supervision of Mr. Ankit Chauhan, SP(D) South Andaman.
