Port Blair, Apr 22: The Hindu Rashtra Shakti, Port Blair in association with the Department of Panchayat and Forest Department organised a massive tree sapling drive on Earth Day i.e., 22 April 2021 at Beodnapad Panchayat.
While addressing Smti S Preetha, Panchayat Secretary, Beodnapad Panchayat thanked the Hindu Rashtra Shakti and Social Worker of Beodnapad area for coming forward to organize tree plantation drive in Village.
Mr. Rakeshwar Lall, State President, HRS interacted with the villagers Volunteers and informed that one should have the social responsibility for serving the nation. The programme was attended by Mr. Angshuman Roy State General Secretary (Youth), HRS who asked the villagers to take up the values given by Dr.Kalam and everyone should plant atleast five trees in their areas and grow them.
Mr. Amar Kumar Singh, National Secretary, HRS highlighted to Practice the 3 R rule Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to lower the need of raw materials from trees.
This sapling drive was organised by Deptt of Panchayat, Forest Deptt & HRS. Due to COVID 19 Around 05 members of HRS of Port Blair volunteers took part in the tree plantation drive. Over 50 sapling of different type were planted during the drive.
