Port Blair, Jan 25: Altogether eight people from different walks of life have been chosen for the coveted Lt. Governor’s Commendation Certificate this year for their achievements in their respective fields. These meritorious people include a progressive farmer of Chuckchucha village, Car Nicobar, Mr. Lionald Nicomede, a soldier from these islands, Sepoy, Mr. Saw Cheku, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ashok Subramaniam, Social Worker, Smt. Raj Mahajan, IPS Officer, Mr. Chinmoy Biswal, Associate Town & Country Planner, Mr. M. Balamurugan, Tribal Welfare Officer, Mr. Anup Kumar Mondal and Social Worker, Smt. Ratna Kannan.
The Lt. Governor, Lt. Gen (Retd.) Bhopinder Singh will give away LG’s Commendation Certificate to these persons during the main function of the Republic Day celebration at Netaji Stadium tomorrow morning.
