Port Blair, July 09: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands after seeing the difficulties being faced by the general public has requested the Director of Transport, A&N Administration to start STS bus services to ply between Chatham and GB Pant Hospital and also between Garacharma and GB Pant Hospital and vice versa for convenient to the general public and patients.
He said that due to non availability of transportation facilities between these two stretches, the general public and patients coming from Bambooflat and Garacharma area for various purpose including medical treatment are facing untold difficulties since service of private buses are yet to be resumed and Auto Rikshaws is carrying limited persons in view of restrictions on COVID-19 pandemic.
Hence, he requested the Director of Transport that STS bus services may be started to ply between Chatham jetty and GB Pant Hospital and also between Garacharma and GB Pant Hospital and vice versa for three trips (morning, afternoon and evening) daily for convenient to the general public and patients.
