Great Nicobar, May 22: After getting intoxicated heavily on the evening of 17th May 2020 few friends tried to snatch a bag containing alcohol bottles from one of their friends and during this scuffle, the friend with the bag of alcohol slipped into a drain and died resulting in the arrest of two of his friends by PS Campbell Bay.
As per reports, in the entire group, three friends were from the B- Quarry area Campbell Bay and two from Satellite Colony. It is learned that one person namely SK Sanjay resident of Satellite Colony after having some arguments with friends took the bag, that had alcohol bottles and started walking ahead.
This action of Sanjay was not liked by Azmet Khan and Uttam Kumar the partner of SK Sanjay, hence they followed him and snatched the bag of alcohol, it is believed that during this scuffle, SK Sanjay fell into the drain and he died.
A case of murder due to negligence and other relevant sections were registered against the accused Azmet Khan and Uttam Kumar in this regard by the Campbell Bay Police Unit. Further details are awaited.
