Port Blair, Apr 2: There is sufficient stock of essential commodities like daal, rice, atta, potato, onion, tomato, edible oils, salt, sugar etc and LPG, petrol & diesel available in the UT of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. These items are easily available to the consumers. General public have been advised to make the procurements of these essential commodities as per the normal and routine practice and there is absolutely no need to panic. They have also been advised to bear with the petty inconveniences under these circumstances.
In a press release issued here today, the Director, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (CS&CA) has asked people not to resort to any sort of hoarding as there is absolutely no chance of shortage of these essential commodities in this UT.
