Port Blair, Mar 26: In view of the orders under the National Disaster Management Act 2005, imposed by the A&N Administration to implement norms of social distancing to prevent spread of COVID-19, the Administration has issued directions for supply of essential medicine with tele-consultation with doctors. In addition to this other patient who are regularly taking medicine of hypertension, ulcer, diabetes, thyroid etc., can contact the following numbers:-
The patients can send their prescription details like Name, Registration No., Phone No., Medicine requirement to any one of these via Whatsapp or SMS. The designated staff shall collect medicine from the pharmacy at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair and distribute the same to the patient at their door step. The same shall be applicable for requirement of sanitary pads usually available at the Jan-Aushadi Kendra.
Similar, arrangement shall be made available in North & Middle Andaman and Nicobar from 27.03.2020. Patients are required to seek tele- consultation with doctors of their nearest PHCs or CHCs for availing required services.
The Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) have also come forward to join the initiative of the Administration to ensure supply of essential medicines. The following is the list of pharmacies (enclosed) that can be contacted for home delivery of medicine & sanitary pads.
