Port Blair, March 20: To remain away from getting affected by COVID- 19 virus, the crew members of MV Swarajdweep are demanding immediate sailing of the vessel from Kolkata for Port Blair.
As per reports, the vessel MV Swarajdweep was supposed to sail from Port Blair on dated 18th March 2020 but the sailing of the ship was preponed to 16th March 2020 following COVID- 19 issues.
Now the ship has reached the Kolkata Port but the crew members fear that they may get infected with COVID19 virus, if the ship halts at Kolkata for long time.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha on the condition of anonymity a crew member said that, the authorities are planning to sail the ship on March 31st, 2020 but following the current health crisis in the world, all crew members would prefer to stay at Port Blair or close to Port Blair and not at Kolkata Port.
