Port Blair, Mar 16: As a mark of abundant precaution on account of the threat from the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) and on the basis of issuance of various advisories and directives on the subject from the Govt. of India and the Health Department to avoid mass gatherings and to ensure social distancing so as to minimize the chances of transmission of the disease, it has been decided by the Administration to prohibit service of liquor at all licensed establishments (B1,B2,B3 and B4 category) from 17.03.2020 till 26.03.2020. The matter will be reviewed by the Administration on 23.03.2020.
Non compliance of this order will be viewed very seriously and appropriate action under the relevant provisions of the Excise Regulations 2013 shall be taken against the defaulters, a communication from the District Magistrate, South Andaman said here.
