Closure of all Coaching Centres & Day Care Centres from today

Port Blair, Mar 16: As a mark of abundant precaution on account of the threat from the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) and on the basis of issuance of various advisories and directives on the subject from the Govt. of India and the Health Department to avoid mass gatherings and to ensure social distancing so as to minimize the chances of transmission of the disease, it has been decided by the Administration to close all Coaching Centres and Day Care Centres of South Andaman District from the morning of 17.03.2020 till further orders. The matter will be reviewed by the Administration on 23.03.2020.
Non compliance of this order will be viewed very seriously and appropriate action under the relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and relevant sections of the IPC shall be taken against the defaulters, a communication from the District Magistrate, South Andaman said here.
