Port Blair, March 11: In view of instances of rash, negligent & drunken driving in the Municipal areas by mischief makers A&N Islands Traffic Police conducted a special drive against drunken and disorderly driving on 06.03.2020 & 07.03.2020 late night. During the drive, around 1200 vehicles were checked by the traffic teams and 314 vehicles were found in violation of various sections of the Motor Vehicle Act & Rules, and were challaned. In another drive conducted at Little Andaman from 04.03.2020 to 06.03.2020 a total of 66 challans were issued against the traffic violators and 01 rider was found riding under the influence of alcohol and his vehicle was seized and sent to court for legal proceedings.The special drive was conducted under the command of

The Traffic Police once again cautions vehicle users to obey the traffic rule & regulations and the traffic signal and signs displayed at various junctions and places. Further, the vehicle users/owners are also cautioned to abstain from obstructive Parking of their vehicles and are advised to park at the designated place of parking as declared by them during the time of vehicle registration. Action would be taken against violators of traffic rules as per Law.
