Port Blair, March 07: South Andaman Police once again proved their efficiency and efforts to curb down the illegal activities from the societies; the team of District Special Police Squad and Insp. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen arrested five persons under A&N Islands Gambling Regulation, 1951 on 6th March, 2020 with recovery of more than 21 thousand rupees.
Acting promptly on credible information, the team comprising Insp. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen, SI M. Abdul Rasheed, ASI Surya Narayan, HC Muthu Kumar, Constables BipulHalder and M. Santosh Kumar raided at Fisheries Jetty near sea shore and arrested five persons namely (1) R. Rajesh, 26 yrs R/o Near Fisheries Jetty, (2) Mohd. Shafique @ Chand, 31 yrs R/o South Point, (3) R. Murugeshan, 32 yrs R/o Brookshabad, (4) Suraj Narayan, 36 yrs R/o Phoenix Bay & (5) Shiva Prasad, 22 yrs R/o Phoenix Bay. A sum of Rs. 21,120/- alongwith 52 Nos. playing card and plastic ground sheet were seized from the spot.
The entire operation took place under SDPO South Andaman, Mrs. SandhyaSwamy, IPS and under the overall direction and supervision of Mr. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
