Port Blair, March 06: 08th March is celebrated as “International Women’s Day” which is observed around the world to celebrate the velour of Women from various cultural and ethnic groups come together crossing all the boundaries to remember their struggle of many decade for peace, justice, equality and development.
On this occasion Mrs. Protima Banerjee, Chairperson sub-committee for FT&A, Councillor, Ward No. 06 has decided to celebrate “International Women’s Day” with the women’s community in and around Ward No. 06 in the school playground of Kendriya Vidyalaya No-1 at 5.00 P.M by organizing a “Women’s Cricket Match Tournament” and a competition based on source segregation to separate dry and wet waste among the 30 No. of Women’s Sanitary Mazdoors who are deputed under Ward No. 06 to maintain throughout the ward.
